2. Glue
You can attach
the skirting and architraves easily especially to stone walls
with glue. The modern glues are effective and easy to use. First,
insert glue behind the moulding and then press it against the
surface (you can do it easily for example with tools such as the
ones in the picture). After this, remove the moulding from the
wall and let it dry for a couple of minutes and press the moulding
to the surface again.

3. Nailing with a hammer
You can also attach the mouldings with nails approximately 3 mm
thick and 30-40 mm long using a normal hammer. Wood based mouldings
bruise easily if the last hit is too hard. MDF-mouldings are more
durable than wood, but they can still be attached in the exact same
way as the wooden mouldings. The heads of nails and bruises can
be covered by carefully brushing paint onto them with for example
a cotton stick.

4. Concealed Fixing |
 |
Measure
the right installation height for the fixing from the floor by using
a piece of moulding about 2 cm long.
The fixing should be in the same level as the groove of the moulding.
Install the fixing with screws or nails depending on the surface.
Install the fixings every 50 cm. The same fixing can also be applied
to corners by bending it. Always install the fixing to the moulding
seam.
